A Classic Cotswolds Wedding With Sunshine And Smiles

Although Gemma and Matt got married on the 26th September this year, they were blessed with a day filled with sunshine. The couple had a classic Cotswolds wedding and got married at St Mary’s Church, Lower Slaughter, followed by a reception at Lower Slaughter Manor (next door to one another). ‘The village is a picturesque Cotswold village where people lined the road as I walked to the church, a surreal experience,’ Gemma explains. The couple, who met on a dating website, were together for around a year before Matt proposed at Edinburgh Castle. They went out for dinner and then took a walk to admire the view and have a drink in the Officer’s Mess. ‘Whilst looking across a night scene of a beautifully lit Edinburgh from the battlements, he got down on one knee and asked me,’ says Gemma.’He then had pre arranged for us to go into the Officers’ Mess and have some champagne. He did well.’

Gemma and Matt’s wedding day was photographed by Weddings By Nicola And Glen. ‘They captured our story perfectly,’ says Gemma. ‘We loved having them with us for the day. We felt blessed that the sun shone. Words cannot describe the magic of the day, but our new home is full of the love and photographs that were taken.’
